The bar has been raised.
I’m constantly impressed by the toughness of my seniors. We had to postpone Maya’s session from her original October date because she was in an orthopedic boot for a foot injury. So we did her session in early January with the temperature in the 30s. She wore a crop top, mini-skirt, and strappy platform heels on an uneven trail through the woods. Did I mention she was getting her foot surgery finally done in two days to address the injury that had been bothering her all autumn? And she didn’t complain once. Even when I pushed her session 15-20 minutes longer because I forgot she had a second outfit. A warmer outfit, as it turns out, with comfortable shoes that would have been a much more sensible choice for the return trip on the out and back woods trail.
On the other hand, I wore a puffer jacket, two fleeces, a base layer on top and bottom, long pants, socks, and sneakers. I still wanted hot chocolate when I got home.
Maya is multi-talented, as a drum major, saxophonist, and visual artist. Her plan is to pursue sports medicine. I think she would likely advise her future clients not to hike in the woods for over an hour in platform heels two days before foot surgery. If one of them shows a screen shot of this blog post to her one day, I apologize to future Maya for putting this out there. But whether or not advisable from a medical standpoint, I think everyone would have to agree that she looked stunning.
Thank you so much Nancy from the bottom of our hearts. I am absolutely lost for words with beauty of your work. I truly enjoyed watching Maya’s session and no surprise to me she know how to work camera
I cant wait to have our summer family session.
It has been a joy to get to know Maya. I’m glad you loved the pictures as much as I did! I will look forward to photographing your family in the summer!
