It might seem a late in the school year to be doing senior pictures, but this was the fifth date we scheduled Hayden’s session. The first session was postponed due to rain, the second due to illness. The third weekend, Cincinnati had such heavy rainfall that the river banks overflowed, and people were literally canoeing through Smale Park. The fourth date got rained out as well. We didn’t schedule this fifth session until three days ahead, when the forecast said 0% chance of rain, and we finally got to do the session.

It is incredible to think that just three weeks ago, both parks we were visiting were completely submerged , with only the raised tulip beds and statues rising above the water. But both parks looked incredibly normal, with many people enjoying the lovely gardens, which is a testament to the many people who worked so hard to clean and restore the parks after the flooding.

Despite all the rescheduling, resulting in Hayden and his dad wasting a trip downtown last weekend, only to call off the session due to threat of thunderstorms, Hayden was pleasant and cooperative. The two-hour session ending at twilight meant that he was tired and hungry by the end, but he still bore with all the directions, and was getting quite good at anticipating the posing instructions. He did a fantastic job, and I’m glad his family can finally check this off their busy senior to-do list!
