Nick is a busy senior a week away from the end of marching band season. He also holds down a part time job and is in the college application process, looking at fields such as psychology and pre-law.
He’s not afraid of taking chances. Our portrait session day was scheduled with a 93% chance of rain. Much of it had passed by the time our session started, but the skies were still thick with dark clouds when we arrived downtown. Nick was a great sport and cooperated beautifully with the posing, lighting, and general fussing. His mom carried the wardrobe up and down the wet slopes of the park and sacrificed her jacket to dry off a bench. I assigned the key lighting grip role to his dad because of his height, and he followed instructions to the letter.
Mercifully, we all stayed mostly dry. I probably complained the most when I got a bit damp from unwisely sitting on the wet lawn to get a better angle on the bridge, but that was clearly my own doing, and I liked the image, so I’d do it again.
Best of luck on your competition this weekend, Nick, and thank you for being game despite the threatening weather!
