I love traditional Indian dresses–the beautiful colors, sparkling embellishments, and the draping fabrics. I encouraged Aditi to wear one if she had one available, and it turns out that she had bought one over the summer that she hadn’t had a chance to wear yet. The color was perfect for her, and she looked amazing.

The downside was that although the week had been warm, it was 35 degrees that morning. We put her in two layers of coats in between photos to try to warm her up in between. Ironically, when she changed into her second and third outfits, she was even colder, because at least the skirt was layered and she had a thin scarf to wrap around her arms.

Her teeth were literally chattering when we were near the end of the session, but she was still smiling. I try to get a variety of expressions from most people, but with Aditi, I just went with smiling. I really do think that is her natural, baseline expression. Whenever I saw her on the field as a member of the Mason Band color guard, she never failed to give me her signature smile.

She took band off her senior schedule so she would have time for other pursuits, like playing the violin in the Mason High School orchestra. I miss seeing her cheery face all the time, so I was very happy to get to get to do this session for her!
