I’m having a run on strong, smart women this senior season, and I am loving it!

Catherine is taking three AP classes this year in addition to a CCP class. Fortunately, she loves math, physics, and writing, so it’s not as grueling as it may sound for senior year. She’s leaning strongly toward engineering as a career choice, inspired by her parents, who are both engineers.

I actually went to high school in Missouri with her mom, who was one of those extremely smart kids that no one thought was nerdy. Cat seems to be following in her mother’s footsteps. In addition to excelling in STEM subjects, she also plays field hockey and softball and has the battle scars to prove it. Cat is a five-foot-nine warrior, which made holding the photographic lights over head very challenging for her petite mother, but her mother managed to pull it off.

It was a pleasure walking around downtown with this dynamic mother-daughter duo. I felt so lucky to meet the daughter of someone I admired and respected in school and to see how the next generation was exhibiting many of the same qualities.

Have a wonderful rest of your senior year, Catherine!
