Becca puts a high priority on her family, and memories of spending time with her grandparents at Landen Lake are precious to her. This is why she wanted some of her pictures done behind the house where she spent many happy summer days. The current owners were gracious enough to let us park in their drive and take pictures on their dock. She is a color guard member, and brought the most pristine white flag I’ve ever seen. We would have had more flag photos, except I was afraid that the flag would end up in the lake. I should have had more confidence in her skill, because she never dropped the flag or needed to move her feet to make the catch.

We then drove across town to Glenwood Gardens, where we knew we would get a good view of the sky for sunset. The forecast had not been promising, but I held out hope. It was still very warm, in the high 80s, so I encouraged Becca to change into her second outfit, which had more lightweight fabric. Besides, the color was stunning on her. I don’t know Becca well, but it seems to me that she isn’t the type to demand much attention or ask much for herself. So I was pleased to see her being blessed with a lovely sunset, despite the forecast, and flowers in bloom that coordinated with her dress, so she would have a setting tailor-made to complement her beauty.
