Ally is finishing her degree in psychology at The Ohio State University this spring. I think she has to be one of the most organized seniors I’ve ever had. We scheduled her session at 8 a.m. on a Sunday when we thought the campus would still be waking up. She not only had locations in mind, but mapped out a route and sent me example photos so I would know what kind of lighting and equipment to bring. Which made it all the more ironic that the well-thought-out plan was thrown into disarray, when we found ourselves sharing the plaza in front of the stadium with an estimated 13,000 walkers and runners getting registered for the 4 Miler event.
Fortunately, Ally is flexible, and her mother is persuasive. She managed to get permission to come inside the barricaded area for literally, a minute. My camera’s data shows that we were shooting pictures for 37 seconds before we scampered out again under the watchful eye of security. Luckily, Ally nailed her hat toss in one take.
Ally even brought a simple sweater to throw on to get a professional headshot for her LinkedIn profile in the last few seconds of her session. It only took seconds, because Ally naturally projects the smart, confident, capable aura that I wanted.
Well done, to Ally, and congratulations on your upcoming graduation!
