Sophie is independent enough to find her own path, but her most controversial move so far may be to apply to Purdue when the rest of the family are Indiana University alumni or students. She is pursuing engineering, so it is a sensible move. She also bravely stepped away from color guard in her senior year so she would have time to devote to other passions, like playing her cello in the orchestra.
She is so intentionally cheerful that I couldn’t resist having her beautiful smile in almost every photo because the solemn ones just didn’t look like Sophie. Sophie brought Kiko, her childhood lovey, and her Bible as well, which are things dear to her heart. Her family is very close, and she knew her sister wouldn’t mind her borrowing her sandals for some of the photos. Sophie’s sweet and generous nature is in keeping with the rest of the members of her family, whom I’m sure will forgive her even if she becomes a Boilermaker!
