I love shooting action. I love capturing that moment that you thought you saw, but weren’t really sure if it was as awesome as you thought it was, but then there’s the proof, yes, it was really that awesome.
This extraordinary senior session had it all–brilliant sunset, beautiful senior, her flute, and dance lessons since preschool. And because the temperature was unseasonably comfortable, she could do all sorts of things that would have been brutally punishing in the usual sweltering heat of summer. So we took advantage.
We wanted a couple of sun flare picture, and I thought the backlit flowers surrounded her nicely.
The only thing is that she is seated in the middle of a fountain, and we were really hoping that it wouldn’t turn on.
While she went to change, passerby watched me lighting a trash can with a flash on a stand, but no one called the police, thank goodness. And when my senior came back, we were ready to go.
We of course needed some portraits with her flute.
The light was falling fast, but a beautiful sunset was in progress. We had to move fast to get as many settings in while the sky was dramatic. That meant moving lights and stands for every new location, but it was so worth it.
Just when she thought she was done, I asked her if she had any energy left for some jumps.
She did.
