Vedant had his senior session at Sharon Woods in December because he had essentially sold his soul to marching band for the fall season. We didn’t have much color left in the trees, but I actually like that understated color palette better in some ways, because there is less to distract from the subject. The temperature was not terrible, in the 40s, but there was a steady rain by the time we arrived at the park. We waited, hoping that it would stop in time for us to get our session in before dark.
The rain was light enough after half an hour that we were bold enough to venture from the cars. We took Vedant’s dog on the trail, who was beautifully behaved, even after being cooped up in the car, and smiled nicely for the camera at the right moments. We returned to get Vedant’s instrument after we were sure the rain was fully stopped. Vedant plays the French horn in Mason High School’s highest level band, and we wanted to respect the instrument by keeping it dry!
Even with the rain delay, Vedant had an easy manner in front of the camera and was quick to pick up on directions, so we had no problems getting a full set of pictures in before we lost the light to the deeply overcast sky at sunset.
Vedant’s kind and gentle leadership will definitely be missed by his younger marching band siblings next year as he goes on to the next stage in his life!
What a handsome young man. You did a beautiful job with his photos, Nancy!
