You wouldn’t necessarily think this was a kid who rocked a pink Frozen backpack for his first day of senior year, but he did. Matching heart-shaped Anna and Elsa lunch box, too. So that is Andy, comfortable, confident, and not inclined to take himself too seriously.

He dressed a bit more conservatively for his senior portraits, as to oblige his mom (and his photographer), and he was equally accommodating in following my endless posing directions. Actually, I probably had to direct him less than usual, because he was also a quick study, and he pretty much did what was needed without being asked.

Pine Hill Lakes is a great setting for portraits, except on the day we were there, it seemed to be the roosting place for all manner of waterfowl. I like ducks as much or more than anyone else, but the geese were all over the place, too, and so we had to be careful of the droppings. There was also a turkey vulture convention taking place in one of my usual spots, so one didn’t like to look too closely at what might have transpired there. We were treated to the sight of a blue heron taking off as well. I wasn’t quick enough to get him in one of the portraits. Maybe next time.

Andy changed into a slightly more festive shirt during his session, which suited him well. By this time, he was pretty relaxed in front of the camera, although I’m sure he was ready to be done way more than he let on. I give him full marks for endurance.

I was rather sad that I didn’t get to see the little pink backpack on his 6-foot frame in person, but other than that, we had a great senior session. Enjoy the rest of your senior year, Andy!
