A cemetery may sound like an odd location for family portraits, but Spring Grove is also a well-established arboretum, boasting many state and even national champion trees. Their landscaping is beautifully designed and maintained, and many of the memorials have classic architecture and sculpture to complement the setting.
We spent a beautiful morning with Jeff and Sarah here photographing their family. Although I was prepared to use lights and modifiers to compensate for the late morning sun, there were enough shaded areas remaining that we were able to use natural light exclusively.
These little ones were so full of life that I did very few posed shots. Fortunately, they were a naturally photogenic family.
Spring Grove has so many magnificent old trees. The little boy picked this one as his special nest. He even allowed his little sister and then his family to share it with him for a few moments.
There is obviously a lot of love in this family. With so many tender and touching images, it was very difficult to narrow the selection down to a few favorites, and I could easily post dozens more.
Thank you, Jeff and Sarah, for letting me share a few of your sweet family’s moments!
