Katie and Michael are both visual artists, and their wedding was beautifully coordinated. The groom wore a plum suit with a pocket watch given to him by his soon-to-be-father-in-law, and the rest of the wedding party was in various autumn shades. The wedding was at The Willow Tree in Tipp City, which was aptly named for the multitude of graceful willow trees gracing the barn on the property.

There was a brisk chill in the air, but thankfully, it wasn’t raining. Katie and Michael showed their fortitude by taking many outdoor pictures. They entertained the guests during the reception with a light saber battle with “Duel of the Fates” playing in the background.

We had planned to do sunset pictures, but it was fully overcast, and I didn’t want to pull them away from their guests when there was no color in the sky to chase. However, after the reception wound down, we did a short set of night photos with their man of honor, Collin, holding the main light.

With the cold and the uncertainty of rain throughout the day, it must have been stressful for everyone involved in the wedding planning. However, I saw people treating each other with grace, and it was obvious that Katie and Michael were drawing support and strength from each other.

Congratulations on your union, Katie and Michael!
