Charlie and Melvin’s wedding day was filled with touches from creative people. Charlie shared an emotional first look moment with her dad after getting ready at the stately Carnegie Hall in Newport before departing for the ceremony at Crossroads Oakley. The wedding guests joined the pastor in praying for Charlie and Melvin’s new marriage. We made a short detour to George Rogers Clark Park where we took a very limited number skyline photos because of the heat and humidity.
Special thanks to Rachel and Brandon, who spent extra time out in the hot weather to hold the lights for the couple, and to Barrett, who stepped up to hold the lights for the wedding party! Rachel and Brandon also showed off their new lighting skills at sunset, which they performed with flair.
Speaking of performances, Charlie Hardt is an EDM/pop singer/songwriter, so she performed one of her hits during the reception, “Somebody to You” with her collaborator, Nashville music producer and DJ, Shams.
Instead of a bouquet toss, Charlie chose to honor her mother with her bouquet in gratitude for doing so much of the wedding planning and all her support.
Everyone I met on the DelightMore catering and event team was so helpful and professional. The food particularly was exceptional. One guest was overheard to express a desire to marry the risotto. The staff also did a fine job of guiding guests through a safe sparkler send off on their patio.
Congratulations to Charlie and Melvin and best wishes for their life together!
