I can’t believe that I’ve been photographing this beautiful family for seven years now. We’ve never done their annual family portraits in the same location, and their featured activities were always changing. We’ve never even had the same color scheme–until now.

On their first photo session the family wore the classic white shirts and blue jeans.

This year, the shirts had some variation to keep them from being too uniform. I absolutely loved the youngest one’s suspenders, which were his own idea.

The boys have certainly changed. The eldest was only seven when I started taking his picture. Now he’s going into high school in the fall. Eek!

The middle boy had a hundred different ideas for poses the first time. He hasn’t lost his photogenic charm.

The youngest was only three at our first session, and stubbornly resisted all attempts to bribe or threaten him into cooperation. But he did a 180 degree turn figuratively and literally when I asked him if I could take a picture of his bottom.

I’ll spare you this year’s version of the pose, but here’s the recent one of his face.

They were pretty cute back then, and now.

Incidentally, the reason they’re smiling in the recent picture is that I was reminding them about the whole bottom incident.

Mom and Dad haven’t really changed, by the way.

They are still as lovely a couple as ever.

Part of the tradition with this family is that we do some shots that are inspired by the boys’ interests and ideas for posing. This year’s pictures were a bit different from past years, and a lot of fun. I’ll share them in a future post.
